Corporate Social Responsibility

Responsibility does not only lie with the leaders of our countries or with those who have been appointed or elected to do a particular job. It lies with each of us individually. - Dalai Lama

Ethical Sourcing and Trade

The Savile Row Company has enjoyed great success and growth over the last few years and with this, we have had the pleasure to develop both our business in the UK and the location of suppliers that we work with globally. We are proud to provide our customers with expertise and quality sourced from many different countries around the world.

We have a responsibility to our supply partners, customers and colleagues to ensure that all of our products are produced in acceptable conditions and in an ethical way. This sense of responsibility is at the core of how we operate as a business. All of our products are manufactured in factories belonging to either our trusted licensees or us and have members of staff employed on site for the purpose of quality control and supervision of standards.

All products manufactured for and sold by the Savile Row Company have been produced lawfully, through fair and honest dealing; without any exploitation or discrimination of the people who made them; in safe, hygienic and decent working conditions; without causing damage to the environment.

Ethical trade is a challenge. One that we believe all of us should take on.

Environmental Policy

The UK consumes natural resources at an unsustainable rate and contributes unnecessarily to climate change. Each year we generate almost 300 million tonnes of waste, which causes environmental damage and costs businesses and consumers money.

Over a third of this waste comes from household, commercial and industrial sources. The rest is produced by the construction, mining and quarrying sectors, as well as other sources including sewage, healthcare and batteries. 58% of the country’s waste is disposed of in landfill sites, but the UK Government is committed to reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill and improving recycling and composting alternatives, helping to move towards a zero waste economy in England.

As are we.

The Savile Row Company has recycled materials such as cardboard and plastic from our head offices, shop and distribution centres for many years. We aim to ensure that our transport operations are as efficient, safe and environmentally responsible as possible and to minimise packaging and divert as much waste as possible from landfill.

Our customers will almost always receive their goods in boxes that have had a previous use. At first glance, this may make a luxury purchase appear a little less spe
cial; but remember, you are helping to save the environment and really, it’s what’s inside that counts!
As an environmentally conscious company, we regularly review our business practices and look for new ways to become more energy efficient, further reduce waste and to recycle more of the waste that we do produce.

We are committed to:

- Continuously improving our environmental performance by reducing the unnecessary consumption of natural resources and improving the efficiency of our current usage

- Ensuring environmental and climate change factors are taken into account in the procurement and provision of all goods and services

- Managing the business and its various operations in such a way as to reduce pollution and to consider the environmental and energy issues

- Taking action to reduce our carbon footprint, explore sources of renewable energy and to manage the waste generated by our company and business operations

We welcome any suggestions that customers wish to share regarding other environmental or ethical ventures that we could pursue. Please forward them via email to dianecanady@savile-row.co.uk
